The Winter season includes Boys and Girls Basketball, Hockey, Boys Swimming, Wrestling and runs from mid-November through mid-March. Due to the Pandemic, schools will not be allowing spectators to events as part of virus mitigation. This policy will be reviewed by Athletic Directors to determine format for months of January and February. Thank you for your patience and understanding during these challenging times.
FRCC MASK POLICY- adopted 12.1.2020 by FRCC Administrators
The Governor's mask mandate is a requirement. Masks covering the mouth and nose are required to be worn by everyone involved in the contest whether a player, non-player, coach, official, worker, or spectator, with no exemptions or exceptions. Neck gaiters are acceptable except for wrestling participants. Regardless of any State mandate, guideline, or involvement, we, as a conference, will continue to follow the masking guidelines. Athletics and activities are a privilege and if a student wants to exercise that privilege, they need to mask up to mitigate the risk and reduce exposure with indoor sports or activities. Conference and non-conference visiting teams, officials, coaches/advisors, and spectators, if allowed, will follow the host school's COVID mask requirement. Additionally, when conference teams travel to non-conference schools, conference teams will continue to wear masks at all times, regardless of the non-conference host school's mask policy. This policy will be reviewed again on January 19, 2021, but does not suggest it will change.
WINTER SPORTS UPDATE- 1.4.21
The pandemic has caused staggered starts for Winter sports in some School Districts, abbreviated and inequitable sports schedules, and team quarantines. As a result of these factors, the Fox River Classic Conference will not have Team Champions for Winter sports this year. As in the past, athletes will continue to be recognized for all-conference consideration and honors by their Coaches at the end of the Winter sports season.
